Bagwell Energy Service Announces 150-Job Expansion in Iberia Parish

Feb 28, 2019

As production and offshore exploration in the Gulf of Mexico start showing signs of recovery, Bagwell Energy Services announces a $2.5 million capital investment at its Port of Delcambre fabrication center located in Iberia Parish. The expansion is estimated to create 150 new jobs over the next five years and retain 46 existing jobs. Indirectly, Louisiana Economic Development (LED) is estimating the expansion and investment will result in 240 new indirect jobs in the Acadiana and surrounding regions.

“We are excited to be back at home in the Twin Parish Port,” said Rodger Bagwell, who earlier served as president and CEO of Rotorcraft Leasing Company and helped build the Broussard, Louisiana-based transport company from a fleet of 15 helicopters to 150. “With this area’s experienced energy-related workforce, our waterfront facility and the investment into technical equipment, we have the competitive edge to succeed. Through a diversified customer base and years of experience in this industry, we look forward to many years of growth in the Twin Parish Port.”
To secure the project, the state offered Bagwell Energy a competitive incentive package, including a $250,000 Economic Development Award, and access to LED’s FastStart program for workforce training.
